Repurposing Your Corporate Video Content

October 14, 2020

You hired the right production company, you wrote the right script, you chose the right location, you spoke to the right audience, and you are left with an absolutely drop dead fantastic corporate video. So, now what?

Sure, that video belongs front and center on your website and maybe on a few select social media pages, or maybe it’s the epitome of recruitment excellence on a few staffing websites.

But a corporate video seems like such a huge endeavor to only end up serving one or two purposes, doesn’t it? Figuring out ways to repurpose your video’s content for different uses within your company optimizes your investment and ultimately just affords your company more brand awareness and a whole lot more exposure.

Make A Few Shorter Video Clips

Breaking up your longer form video into shorter but still meaningful clips is a great way to create several pieces of content out of one. Shorter video snippets can be used in Google Ads, social media stories, and a host of other platforms where there are substantial time limits on video content (think 15-20 second clips.)

When you’re writing your initial script, or talking to your video production company’s team about where the script is headed, consider a dialogue that allows the final video to be broken into a few segments. You and your 120 new pieces of content will be glad you did

Turn Your Video Concept into a Blog Concept

You’re reading this post, right? So you know blogs can be a powerful way to reach an audience. Consider taking the concept you used to make your video and turn it into a relevant blog post. Recruiting for talent? Write a blog post that highlights a few employees’ favorite aspects of working for your company. Launching a new product? That’s a no brainer. Write a blog post outlining the new features, then go ahead and add that video to the blog to hammer the concept home.

Transcribe Your Video

We made a shout out to Rev.com in one of our previous posts about how closed captions are the best kept SEO secret for your videos, but we figure there’s no shame in a second shout out to another one of their services, transcription. Have your video transcribed by a real human being for the bargain bin price of $1.25 per minute, then share the transcription on your blog, post it on your website, or just make sure it accompanies your video wherever it goes. Including a transcription can be hugely beneficial for SEO, and it also allows a bit more access to your video’s content.

Improve your Website Copy

If your video included testimonials or input from employees regarding your company’s strengths, then you’re missing out on an SEO and branding goldmine if those direct quotes aren’t making it onto your website’s copy. Pull specific snippets and quotes from your video’s content, add some stellar graphic design, and share with the world what people are saying about you.

This trick goes for recruitment videos, branding videos, training videos, you name it. Highlighting video content on your site just makes your message more accessible, makes it reach more people, and ultimately encourages people to watch your video anyway.

We make a living making videos, so we know it’s an investment. Make sure you’re getting the most out of that investment that you possibly can by repurposing your video content as much as possible.
