The holidays are here! I mean, it’s 2020 and they look quite different than we’re used to, but they’re still here!
What are your company’s plans for the holidays? Read: what do you change about your marketing when the holidays come ‘round? If you’re not looking at ways to vary your strategy right about now, then you might be missing out on some great opportunities. The holidays are a great time to resonate emotionally with your customers (in what is already a very emotion-based economy nowadays) and changing up your marketing content to be holiday-focused is a great way to do so.

There are some major brands on the market that are infamous for incorporating holiday-themed videos in their marketing. Like, you know, Apple. We know they’re in a world of their own, but it’s hard to be a lover of video and not appreciate the genius of Apple marketing.

If you’re already incorporating video on your site by way of banner videos, promotional videos, recruitment videos, or anything along those lines, than swapping out that front page feature for a virtual “Happy Holidays From our Family to Yours” greeting card message can be a great way to grab visitor attention right off the bat.
The holidays historically make people feel comfort, warmth, and happiness. Sharing a bit of that from your company’s voice is a great way to add a personal touch to your marketing messaging this year.
Gifting Guide and Messaging
If you’re company is consumer-focused, you probably spend a majority of your marketing efforts explaining to your customers how your product or service can make their lives better. That’s the marketing white whale, after all. But when the holidays roll around, shifting focus to how what you’re offering can make a friend, family member, or other loved ones’ life better can be an entirely different way to market.
Creating a short video that showcases how your product can bring happiness your customers’ Christmas lists can help put you top of mind when it comes time to start checking off names.
Specialty Holiday Promotions
What better excuse for a limited time offer or special product promotion than the holidays?! Depending on your industry, the holiday season can be the optimal time to launch a new product or service. Video, as usual, is still the best way to get your message to your audience. Creating a short video for social media, your website, blog, et cetera is a great way to announce your version of a holiday exclusive.
The holidays can be magical in more ways than one. Add a little magic to your marketing this year with some holiday-themed video (preferably featuring dogs in ugly Christmas sweaters and lots of Santa hats, but that’s just our preferences at VIP!)
